“Romeo and Juliet” will premiere at the Sofia Opera and Ballet on the 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th of November: the most famous love story in English literature tradition.

Shakespeare has always created beautiful, exalted and strong in spirit characters in his works. He freely portrays the human personality no matter the opinion of society and the basic prejudices of the time.

William Shakespeare’s work inspired many composers, for decades after it was written. One of the most famous pieces inspired by Romeo and Juliet is Sergei Prokofiev’s ballet of the same name: a musical masterpiece which reveals the full pallet of the story and of the protagonists’ inner world.
