Sofia Opera Wagner Festival

On 25 July at 18 h the Sofia Opera and Ballet will offer to the connoisseurs of opera art the last opera of the brilliant German composer, philosopher and writer Richard Wagner – "Parsifal". The libretto is by Richard Wagner, based on motifs from the poem "Parsifal" by Wolfram von Eschenbach.

PARSIFAL is an epic tale of chivalry, a story of the triumph of innocence and compassion over evil and death. Only Parsifal can save Amfortas, the guardian of the Holy Grail. He is mortally wounded by the sorcerer Klingsor with the spear that also mortally pierced Christ.

The opera PARSIFAL offers music that defies analysis but allows its boundless sound to be experienced.
