On the 23rd, 24th and 26th of January, in the Sofia Opera’s completely sold out hall, the audience applauded the artists who participated in the three performances of the opera “La Boheme” by Giacomo Puccini.

Silvia Teneva, Artur Espiritu, Mihail Motaylenko, Alexandrina Mihaylova, Nikolai Voinov, Vladimir Marinov, Dimitar Stanchev, Mario Petrov, Marina Andreeva and the young Korean singers from the opera studio at the opera theater in Tegu, South Korea: Sung Yup Han, Jun Won Huand, Jun Mo Park, Ma Fei and Ye Sol Park left the audience in awe. This classic production was handled by Boiko Bogdanov and was brought back on stage by Vera Petrova.

With the participation of the Sofia Opera orchestra and choir, under the conductorship of Boyan Videnov, with choir conductor Violeta Dimitrova.

The young singers from South Korea are visiting as a result of a general deal between the Sofia Opera and Opera Tegu of creative artists exchange which was signed several years ago.

After Plamen Kartaloff’s production of “Turandot” in Tegu in 2022, the incredibly successful tour of the Sofia Opera one year later with the opera “Elektra”  by Richard Strauss and the production of the opera “Madama Butterfly” by Giacomo Puccini handled by a Korean team in 2023, the partnership between the two theaters continues with the participation of these Korean singers in different performances, part of the Sofia Opera repertoire.
