The last gala concert marking the end of the great Raina Kabaivanska’s 24th international master class will take place on the 2nd of October at the Sofia Opera and Ballet, the New Bulgarian University wrote.
This year, Raina Kabaivanska chose fourteen young opera singers from five different countries: Bulgaria, Georgia, Italy, Romania and South Korea.
During the award ceremony, Raina Kabaivanska will again award select young singers with scholarships to study under her tutelage in Italy. Since its inception during 2002, the “Raina Kabaivanska” fund has awarded more than a hundred scholarships to young opera singers from all over the world.
This event is a part of “Kabaivanska’s Year”: a series of events in honor of the great opera actress and is a part of the Sofia municipality’s cultural program calendar for 2024.
During the day of the gala concert, a photo exhibition dedicated to Kabaivanska and called “My Awakeners” will be held.
