Constantin Trinks will conduct tonight the premiere of "Lohengrin", which opens the Sofia Opera Wagner Festival

The maestro comes after outstanding successes at Teatro San Carlo in Naples, the Royal Opera House in Oslo, the Lyon Opera House, the Bavarian Opera House in Munich and the Glyndebourne Festival. A conductor of exceptionally high calibre, Constantin Trinks has a special relationship with the Sofia Opera and the Acad. Plamen Kartaloff. It was here that he first conducted “Tristan und Isolde” and returned for “Parsifal”, “Rigoletto”, “The Queen of Spades” and Verdi’s Requiem. Last year Constantin conducted 6 Wagner Festival titles – “Der Ring des Nibelungen” tetralogy, “Tristan und Isolde” and “Parsifal”.

A remarkable master of the German operatic tradition – Mozart, Wagner, Richard Strauss – Constantin Trinks takes great pleasure in conducting Italian and French opera. He speaks several languages and works with one of the largest impresario agencies in the world.

 

Who is he?

Constantin Trinks was born in Karlsruhe, Germany. He graduated from the Conservatory in his hometown and began his career in various theatres in Germany, including Saarbrücken and Darmstadt. Parallel to this, he appeared as a symphony conductor. In recent years his career has gained momentum and he has been a frequent guest at Covent Garden, the Rome Opera, the Semperoper Dresden, the Paris Opera, Tokyo, Vienna, Palermo, Zurich and Hamburg.

Last June, Constantin Trinks was awarded the Opus Klassik 2023 Award in the category "Best Recording of the Year" for his CD of the world premiere of Wilhelm Petersen's Symphony No. 3.
