“The Sound of Music”: the legendary Broadway musical, returns to the Sofia Opera and Ballet stage.
“The premiere was during January. We worked together with an American team, with West Hyler as our director. This is the second time we’ve worked with him; he also set the musical “Shrek”. The performances have been a great success, the halls are full. Now, on the 16th and 17th of November, you can again enjoy this Broadway masterpiece”, actress Vesela Delcheva commented for the “Bulgaria sutrin” show.
In her words, “The Sound of Music” is a very deep and impactful story based on actual events.
“These characters also exist in real life. Maria Reiner, the character I’m portraying is a strong and determined woman. She is left an orphan as a child and goes into a monastery. Her happy ending is cut short by the start of World War II and she is forced to flee Austria”, Delcheva commented for Bulgaria ON AIR.
“I’m always dedicated in everything I do and every role I play. I’m grateful to be able to enjoy the fruits of my labor in such an emotional way”, the actress shared.
“Every new role I take on is a big challenge for me. The most interesting part was performing together with children on stage. They are incredibly bright and want to learn new things. I had some problems playing the guitar: I love this instrument but I’ve never developed my skills with it. I managed to play some accords correctly while partnering with Alexandar Georgiev. We also have an upcoming singer debut: that of Nikolay Voinov”, Delcheva added.
Viewers can see the musical on the 16th of November at 7pm and on the 17th of November at 11am and 4pm.
