Anna Pirozzi, bearer of the “Giacomo Puccini” award, will perform for the first time in Sofia as Princess Turandot during the two showings of the opera “Turandot” by Puccini. The Sofia Opera will solemnly open the new season of 2024/2025 with these performances.
World famous maestro Daniel Oren will conduct the performances. We will see Spanish tenor Jorge de Leon in the role of Prince Kalaf, Rosa Feola as Liu, the slave and Svetozar Rangelov as Timur.
During the last decade, soprano Anna Pirozzi has become a leading dramatic soprano both in Italy and all around the world. Shortly after her debut in 2012 at Teatro Regio in Torino as Amelia („Un ballo in maschera“), she was invited to the opera festival in Salzburg. There, she took on the role of Abigaile in “Nabucco” under the conductorship of Riccardo Muti. Anna’s amazing success quickly opened the doors for her to perform at the biggest theaters in the world.
