“From January to this day we have made over 200 spectacles”, said the Director of the Sofia Opera and Ballet.
The Director of the Sofia Opera and Ballet Acad. Plamen Kartaloff is guest in the studio of “Tazi sutrin” to tell curious details about the rich programme and the premiere titles in the new season on the stage of the Opera.
“This evening for the last time in the preseason and summer season spectacles with “My Father the Painter” we are closing our summer programme. On 3 October we shall open the new season with the opera “Cyril and Methodius”, said Acad. Kartaloff.
“With three works we enter the new season – the musical “My Father the Painter” by Peter Stupel, the opera “Cyril and Methodius” by Jivka Klinkova and “Yana’s Nine Brothers” by Lyubomir Pipkov. This way with optimism we enter the new season”, added he.
“In October the spectators will have the chance to see the opera “Ariadne auf Naxos” by Richard Strauss, which continues the series “Strauss” after “Elektra”, said the Director of the Sofia Opera and Ballet.
“From January to this day we have made over 200 spectacles in the three genres – opera, ballet, musical. Just in the summer season the spectacles were 70. With the limitations – these were 25 000 spectators”, added he.
“We made the programme so, that all teams – orchestra, opera, ballet soloists – to be so adaptive that they really play and work”, declared Kartaloff.
“From serious music one cannot expect profit, in it one must invest, because reciprocally we invest in the hearts and the souls of the people”, said he.
“In the greatest peak of the pandemic we made “Elektra” by Richard Strauss. The risk was very balanced, but nobody wanted to stay at home in order to escape from work”, added Kartaloff.
