Today, 29 April, is the International Day of Dance!
The decision to constitute a Day of Dance was taken on a session of UNESCO. In Bulgaria in 1982 was decided to be celebrated the art of BALLET.
For International Day of Dance was taken the date of birth of the French ballet master Jean-Georges Nover, who remained in the history as the greatest reformer in classical dance. He is considered for “father” of ballet in its kind of today.
The definition for ballet today is: stage art, the contents of which reveal themselves through dance and musical images.
The Sofia Opera and Ballet congratulates its company on the International Day of Dance and wishes everybody who works in the temple of this art health and high professional successes!
